About

Welcome to mpollockxc. I am an Australian cross country skier born and bred in Albury, New South Wales. I have been skiing since a very young age and have thought myself as a “skier” since around the same time as I graduated high school in 2010. In 2011 I ventured to the northern hemisphere for my first overseas skiing experience. After a few months of training and racing with the Australian National Team I was able to qualify for and compete in the 2012 Under 21 World Championships.

After having a break from the sport and re-assessing my motivation and goals I have committed myself to the rigours of training and racing that is required for success. After a promising 2014 Australian winter season I joined a ski academy in Montana, America: The Bridger Ski Foundation. I plan to race and train with the club until the United States Nationals in January before heading to Europe to join the Australian crew. My major goal this season is to qualify for and compete in the Under 23 World Championships to be held in Kazakhstan in February.

Additionally I have completed 4 years of a 5 and a half year double degree in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science at The University of New South Wales in Sydney, which I plan to graduate from in mid 2016.

With such a full work load whilst I am in Australia I am unable to take on a full time job and as most elite skiers from non dominant nations I struggle to finance my sporting endeavours. If you would like to donate to my Under 23 World Championships campaign please click the PayPal link below. I sincerely thank you in aiding my efforts to follow my skiing dreams.
